Contributor Rox Fontaine will be recommending selections from our weekly #musicmonday column … and maybe some we may have missed.

D-Why, "Yukon Blonde"
We realize that this track isn't for everyone. However, if you're a fan of Andre 3000 (or his "Bizarro-but-not-nearly-as-good clone B.o.B.) then we think you'll really dig this track. The song has a fantastic melody, great harmonies, and solid lyricism. D-Why is new to our ears and we like what we hear so far. We like music that is believable and D-Why is just that. He's the relatively unassuming guy next door who can embarrass your favorite rapper in a cypher. This work is creative, progressive and most importantly … honest.

Mickey Factz, "Cruisin"
Is anyone out there willing to loan us a couple of $150,000+ sports cars? Just for the length of this song. We'd love to open them up on the highway while blasting this track. This song gets the blood pumping and testosterone flowing. Pause. Add an adrenaline fueled street race into the mix and you've got the stuff of legend. Well, the stuff of Fast and Furious movies at minimum. We dig this song because it makes us want to drive fast.

Jakk Frost, "VIP Dancer"
Don Cannon is a really dope producer. He's really pushing the envelope as a "super producer" and not only collecting big checks from major artists but breaking upcoming artists like PacDiv, The Cool Kids and Ghostwridah. This track is a prime example of that. Philly MC Jakk Frost takes us on an impromptu trip to a strip club. I can tell you right now; if this song came on and I was in a strip club … so much money would be "spunt."

REINCARNATION
Tuge, "Reincarnation"
It's likely that you've never heard of Tuge. What you will quickly come to appreciate is his delivery and distinctly NY sound. With the sound of the south dominating popular Rap music it's always refreshing to hear NY artists reclaim their unique sound. "Reincarnation" is the type of storytelling that we've missed for a long time. Tuge really knocked this out of the park. We got goosebumps at points and that is very rare for Hip-Hop. Keep an eye and ear out for this artist. If this track is any indication; He's something special.
